What are you allowed to bring on your flight?

What you can bring on your trip depends on the type of ticket you have booked.

On our website, in your ticket email, and in your MyTix account, you will find exactly how many pieces and/or kilograms of baggage you are allowed to bring. When relevant, we also mention the maximum dimensions.

  • In your ticket email, you can find this under “How much baggage is included?”
  • When choosing a ticket (if multiple ticket types are available), you will see the options under “Which ticket do you want?”
  • Only want to add checked baggage? You can do this on the “Details” page under the (Checked) baggage section during booking.

The airline’s website always provides the most detailed information — such as allowed dimensions, weight, prohibited items, medications, and special baggage. Do you have unusual or special baggage? Always check the airline’s conditions first.

What types of baggage are there?

Airlines usually distinguish between these baggage types:

SegmentWhat is it?Who gets it?Extra options
Small Personal itemSmall personal item (e.g., handbag, laptop)Every passengerIncluded
Big hand luggageCarry-on baggage (e.g., trolley, backpack)Depends on airline and ticket typeCan be added via our website or MijnTix
Checked baggage (Hold)Large baggage stored in the holdDepends on ticket chosenCan be added via our website or MijnTix
Infant extraBuggy, baby bag, or travel cradleWhen traveling with a baby under 2 years oldOften included, sometimes extra to book

What happens if I bring more?

At check-in, the amount of baggage you have will be checked. If you bring more than allowed, you will have to pay extra at the airport — and those fees are usually (much) higher than if you arrange it online in advance.

Want to bring extra baggage? Then book it during your booking or later via MyTix.
